Lizzie’s cute cottage is in Kingswear is literally a minutes walk to catch the ferry to Dartmouth and fantastic walks by the River Dart.

The cottage has a nautical, cute, homely & informal feel & very much a good base to explore from.

Pricing: £55 per room per night for the king size en suite room.

£35 per room for the small bunk bed room with use of main bathroom.

Breakfast: Help yourself continental.

Lizzie says:

‘I have decided to extend the whole ‘Picnic’ idea by opening up my little cottage as an informal B & B. I love hospitality & love making a house, a home, so I decided why not share it?! I run a busy little business The Picnic Boat and will be out from lunch time for most of the day. Come & make yourselves at home, but preferably in your rooms only please. In the mornings I will be prepping picnic’s while you sit and have breakfast and later in the evenings I’ll be clearing up from my day.

The double room has a good size lovely shower, but very small bathroom size. The room has red & white striped curtains, blue gingham bedside tables & sea side pictures. The smaller room just contains the bunk bunks, bedside table, bookshelf and share use of main bathroom with shower and bath.

Perhaps go down the road to Zannes Bistro for a fry up or across to Café Alf Fresco’s. I’ll see if I can organise a discount for you.

Please be aware that I share my cottage with Millie my Labrador. She is absolutely harmless but does bark at anyone at the door (just protecting me). So if you come and stay, Millie is part of the contract!!

At these early stages of opening I am saying I don’t mind children and dogs staying, although, I might live to regret that, but will see how it goes. Great walks here for dogs and children. I might be able to arrange babysitting for very advance bookings at a rate of £8 per hour.

Terms and Conditions:

Strict arrival and departures times much appreciated! Arrival @ 5pm & departure @ 10am. A 2 night minimum stay on weekends counted as Friday and Saturday. We are closed Sunday and Monday nights.
Credit card taken on booking. Full amount taken for any ‘no shows’.
Payment taken during stay when Lizzie can via credit card or cheques.
No single person rate. It’s the same amount of washing for me, sorry!
Any damage must be paid for and will be taken off card given.

Depending on your time here, I think you must, must, must, do the following:

Breakfast at Café Alf Fresco’s, Dartmouth
Walk to and tour Dartmouth Castle, visit tea shop there and catch Castle Ferry back.
